Inserting a Default Value

Thread began 10/03/2016 2:31 pm by bjgarner241692 | Last modified 10/03/2016 5:31 pm by bjgarner241692 | 493 views | 3 replies

Inserting a Default Value

I have a database with a number of fields set to a default value of 'U'. The idea is that when a new record is created, each of these fields will be set to a value of U. When I create a record in HeidiSQL, this is exactly what happens. When I create a page using my DataAssist page, the fields are blank. The Insert page was created with the wizard and has this in the field for Value - "<?php echo((isset($_GET["invalid"])?ValidatedField("residenceinsert","CareIndependant"):"")); ?>"

I have not yet setup validation, and do not intend to use WA validation in any event.

Why is this value in there since I did not specify validation and can I simply replace it with the required U?
