How to set the value of a field to the database content and then the validated entry?

Urrgh. So sorry. That is pure "wood for the trees" stuff, and a major pain in the ass for you.
I've changed the full text field reference and it is, indeed, now retaining the entered value on validation.

It's still wiping the images displayed on the page though?

In the photograph section I have the following to display the image that's stored with the record, should there be one:

<?php if ($rsEDITNEWS->getColumnVal("DGCRCnewsIMG1") <> "") { ?>
<img src="images-news/<?php echo($rsEDITNEWS->getColumnVal("DGCRCnewsIMG1")); ?>" class="img-fluid img-thumbnail">
<?php } ?>

On initial load of the UPDATE form this image displays, however when validation fails this image disappears. I tried to "be smart" (not wise for me) and did this...

<?php if (isset($_GET['enewsval'])?ValidatedField("editnews_784","newsIMG1"):$rsEDITNEWS->getColumnVal("DGCRCnewsIMG1") <> "") { ?>
<img src="images-news/<?php echo(isset($_GET['enewsval'])?ValidatedField("editnews_784","newsIMG1"):$rsEDITNEWS->getColumnVal("DGCRCnewsIMG1")); ?>" class="img-fluid img-thumbnail">
<?php } ?>

...but the image is still wiped on validation. How do I keep this image displayed?

FTP details below.

Regarding the wiping of the Save ID in Session As, just checking we're clear that this is for the INSERT form, which is when you click "Add News" in the example I've given above.
Validation, when it fails, is wiping this session value so that when you eventually pass validation it doesn't load the correct record on the subsequent confirmation page.

Hope you can help and thank you for your patience.
Regards
NJ
