Is there a way to use the live edit facility with records entered by Data Assist

Is there a way to use the live edit facility with records entered by Data Assist

Love the way live edit works on the public side of the website when admins are signed in, but is there a way of getting it to work with DB content that has been entered by data assist pages. IE: can I offer the same public side editing to unique records created by DA pages. I'm trying to think of a way to do this, but can't.

I don't particularly want historical versions created when an edit is made as I don't want to create too many records of the similar content, I just want to allow an admin to edit the content on the live page once they are signed in... just like you can with actual PowerCMS content but to a specific record in a different DB table of my own design and without creating the historical versions.

Is it possible?
