It looks like your checkout page is using live credentials and the pp_confirm page is using sandbox. Update line 331 on the pp_confirm page and change it to "false" so that it uses the live server.

I think the first thing we should work on is getting it working with clicking the checkout button the way it is now. Once that is working then we can try to get it working without displaying the page at all.

(I think to get it working without displaying the page you would just have to update line 258 to :
if (""=="") {

But first try my suggestion above, and if it still doesn't work, let's debug why it is failing. To do that, create a new page with just this code:

<?php
@session_start();
var_dump($_SESSION);
?>

Then go through the checkout process until you see the failure page. After the failure update the url in the browser and view the new page with the session dump. View source on that page to see the contents and it should have information about why it failed.
