Possible for input field?

Is it possible to apply this to two input fields?

I tried editing the above script to the following scenario. I'm basically trying to get the start date to automatically be inserted into the end date field once the start date has been entered and the user has jumped to the next field (end date). I still need the user to be able to manually update the end date field.

function getEndDate(list) {
var listOption = list.options[list.selectedIndex];
var eventEndDate = listOption.getAttribute("tmsaeventstartdate");
document.getElementById("tmsaeventenddate").value = eventEndDate;

<div class="form-group">
<label for="tmsaeventstartdate" class="col-sm-2 control-label">Start Date:</label>

<div class="col-sm-4">
<input type="text" class="form-control" name="tmsaeventstartdate" id="tmsaeventstartdate" onchange="getEndDate(this);">
</div><!-- end form-group -->

<div class="form-group">
<label for="tmsaeventenddate" class="col-sm-2 control-label">End Date:</label>

<div class="col-sm-4">
<input type="text" class="form-control" name="tmsaeventenddate" id="tmsaeventenddate">
</div><!-- end form-group -->

Thank you.
