configure paypal button or paypal API with web form.. Do I need eCart?

Hi Jason ( I presume ). You might recall the web-site I am working on that you have helped me with on various issues..
The site will have a members area which access is granted once the user has completed the registration form. The registration form sends it data to a database and I now need to configure the form so it directs to a payment system. We have a Paypal business Standard account but i'm unsure on what the best solution is for us. It is likely I will need assistance with this I just need direction on what I need to do and need.

Will I need eCart or Powerstore for this? or can I replace the forms submit button with a paypal button?

Thanks in advance!
