Several cart issues

Thread began 10/26/2014 11:58 am by tmcbinc99963 | Last modified 11/05/2014 4:32 pm by tmcbinc99963 | 2801 views | 30 replies

The shipping is currently set up for the 10kg UPS box, which makes the shipping charges too high. I want to be able to set the rate based on L x W x H of items in the cart. Can this be done without hand coding? Where do I enter the size of each product and what column needs to be added - total size?

Also, please explain how the shipping works. The buyer is charged for the shipping via the gateway and merchant account setup. Where and how are the shipping labels generated? When does the seller pay for the shipping? Does this somehow link to UPS as an order and will they automatically come pick up the package? How does UPS get a copy of the order? Can the seller ship the package any way they want; using a different carrier if needed?
