PHP Show if...working with two values?

Thread began 10/14/2014 9:57 am by Nathon Jones Web Design | Last modified 10/28/2014 10:56 am by Nathon Jones Web Design | 1403 views | 15 replies

Nathon Jones Web Design

Thank you for that information Jason.

Received a parenthesis error with your example if statement:
<?php if (($row_rsPROD['LEDtypeID'] != 6 && $row_rsPROD['LEDtypeID'] != 9)) || $row_rsPROD['LEDid'] != 610 { // Show if column... ?>

I noticed that there were parenthesis missing around the criteria so I changed it to this:
<?php if (($row_rsPROD['LEDtypeID'] != 6 && $row_rsPROD['LEDtypeID'] != 9) II $row_rsPROD['LEDid'] != 610) { // Show if column... ?>

As before, this wasn't working but there was no parenthesis warning this time. However, if the LEDid was 610 then the Cool White and Warm White graphics displayed, which was wrong. So, again as before, I wondered if I (we?) were grasping the AND vs OR conditions.

I changed it to AND...
<?php if (($row_rsPROD['LEDtypeID'] != 6 && $row_rsPROD['LEDtypeID'] != 9) && $row_rsPROD['LEDid'] != 610) { // Show if column... ?>

...and it works!

In my mind it surely must be an OR but I just want it to work to be honest. Perhaps I am confused by double negatives here - it has been a long year!

Much appreciated.
