Validation not working, emails not sending, no errors.

Sorry to open up this one again but the validation isn't working as I would expect it to work. The server side validation works OK but my understanding is that the jquery validation included with DataAssist is client side validation am I right? If so I would expect that if I tab through a required field without entering any data then I would be notified with a popup message. If you go to, place your curser in the Email field and then tab to the next field. Nothing happens. This is the code on the page which I assume is to do with the jquery validation:

<script src="webassist/jq_validation/jquery.h5validate.js"></script>

var Registration_Basic_Default_Opts = {
focusout: true,
focusin: false,
change: false,
keyup: false,
popupClass: "Bloom",
pointedAt: "left",
fieldOffset: 10,
fieldMargin: 2,
position: "left",
direction: "left",
border: 1,
offset: 25,
closeText: "?",
percentWidth: 100,
orientation: "bottom",
function Registration_Basic_Default_Validate() {
$(document).ready(function () {

It doesn't work.

The second issue I am having is that there doesn't seem to be any validation to compare the password and confirmation password fields for a match. How do I add this?
