"An unidentified error has occured"

I can't seem to get past this. I don't want to set up two databases, I just want to test on the live server which I can FTP into without any problem using Dreamweaver. I can see the tables and views from my MySQL database in the Databases panel but when I test a recordset I get the above error message.

"make sure to have the correct URL Prefix for the site added" - where is this Jason?

In the "Testing Server" section in my Site Definition I have:
Server model: PHP MySQL
Access: FTP
FTP Host: (correct address)
Host directory: tried everything.... "/" or "/htdocs" or "/htdocs/" or just blank
Login: (correct login)
Password: (correct password)
Use Passive FTP: (checked)
Use Firewall (in Preferences): (unchecked)
Use Secure FTP (SFTP): (unchecked)
URL prefix:

Really hope you can help because I really want to go down the PHP MySQL and eCart 6 route with a client of ours but I'm struggling to get the basics of connecting to our database right. Once that's resolved then I'm sure I can rely on Dreamweaver more for the coding.

Thanks (as ever)
