Craig, I thought about your solution too.
ItemID - English - German - French - Spanish
1 - Dog - Hund - Chien - Perro
2 - Cat - Katze - Chat - Gato
and link this to the itemid in tblitems"
I don't understand how the query would know which language to choose. I have a category itemID in tblItem, but I want only one language to be the result of a query (I hope, I am not making things to complicated. It is a little difficult to explain all this in English).
Maybe the approach could be to add categories to tblItem. Instead of just having itemName in there, I would have itemNameEnglish, itemNameGerman etc.
And I would do the same with the contents in tblPrice, make one content-category for each language. Then for the query (I am not sure I am using this word correctly) I would pin point the program to the respective category. I guess that would not be the most elegant or efficient method.
I bought a book online, "Practical Web Database Design", and it should be here in a week or so. I think I should do some more reading, before I get to the bottom of this.
I also have to say, just a few days ago I didn't even know how to spell database ... figuratively. So I think I need to take it a step back.
