Power CMS overwrote many of my website's files and left both unusable!

Thread began 1/12/2014 3:17 am by cldsk | Last modified 1/14/2014 12:06 pm by cldsk | 223 views | 3 replies

Thanks for the reply...I was able to get the main site looking the same (minus my Skype tool up top), in the CMS the Activity, Help, and Settings pages are taking my main site's look - which isn't a bad thing, I just never had the CMS take up the main site's background....

I understand the suggestion of adding in the CMS first, though it does add a few extra steps, and somewhat goes against how you advertise the product (using the "Add Content to CMS) link to load up the CMS.

It seems like such an easy fix to add "cms_" to the beginning of the associated PowerCMS files so there is less of a chance to overwrite - and so it can load its own style sheet/etc. I am sure there is more complexity to it than that, but it just would be a huge help to not have the CMS files use common names of most website files to prevent this.
