Jason ByrnesWebAssist

mail is a built in PHP function that uses the php send_mail to send emails:

The example that was given above uses the Pear Mail package which is not supported by Power Messenger.

IT can sometimes be possible to modify Power Messenger to use the Pear Mail package, but, like i said: it is not supported, is not tested, and will take a bit of hand coding.

copy the attached PEAR_Mail_using_SMTP_php.php file to the webassist/email folder

then edit the admin_pm/common/mailings.php file and change the following code::

<?php require_once("../../webassist/email/mail_php.php"); ?>

<?php require_once("../../webassist/email/PEAR_Mail_using_SMTP_php.php"); ?>

the edit the webassist/email/waue_email_1.php file and change the following line:

$WA_MailObject = WAUE_Definition("".($WAGLOBAL_Email_Server)  ."","25","",""."PHP /".phpversion()  ."",$WAGLOBAL_Email_Use_Additional_Params,"utf-8");

$WA_MailObject = WAUE_Definition("","".($WAGLOBAL_Email_Server)  ."","<port>","<SMTP user name>","<SMTP Password>","true",""."PHP /".phpversion()  ."","utf-8");

in the above code, change <port>, <SMTP user name>, and <SMTP Password> to the correct port username and password values.

this will edit the main mailings function to using pear mail, further changes are needed for the preview, registration emails, and other mailing functions.

in reality, I Would sugest a host that is compatible with using the standard php mail() function.
