works locally, but not on remote host

James L

works locally, but not on remote host

I've designed sites for several years but only for service businesses or non-profits. Suddenly I have four jobs pending that all want to sell product online. I thought "eCart to my rescue!" I was please at how clear the tutorial was and how well the Blue Sky site works on my computer (a Mac using MAMP), but I was surprised that there was nothing in the tutorial explaining how to move the files up to my remote host. And indeed it doesn't work when I click on either "Gear" or "Music;" this is the error message:

Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect]: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home2/uniqueph/public_html/ on line 9

Fatal error: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home2/uniqueph/public_html/ on line 9

It's obvious that "'root@localhost'" is not correct, and I can open connBSM.php and see how to change it, but change it to what? I've tried all variations of my host server I can think of, and my actual passwords, etc. but still get the same message (but with my changes obviously).

Can someone show me what gets entered here (from a working remote site)?
