Don't Understand How To Use Image Resizer

Don't Understand How To Use Image Resizer

Have read this and this and watched this and I still don't understand how to use Image Resizer.

In it's simplest procedure when I pick Resize By as "Fit To Box" I would image another field would display for me to put those dimensions in but it does not. I have gone ahead and kept the defaults and click ok and a small image of 32 by 32 will display. Don't know where that size comes from or how to modify it.

If I try to put an image (say w=485 by h=576) and then click on Image Resizer and try to pick "Fit to Box" I don't get the ability to pick a size. It still retains the larger image. I don't get how to make it smaller.

Also, how would you use Image Resizer for many items on the same page that you want to have all at same small size?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this subject.
