Validations on DataAssist Pages

Thread began 10/15/2012 9:43 pm by bjgarner241692 | Last modified 1/10/2013 4:29 pm by bjgarner241692 | 1046 views | 13 replies

Can I just say that it's vary rare that I use a provided stock preset, but I do create my own presets to make it easy to revisit and remake pages. In fact, I don't think I have ever used a stock preset in Data Assist. As far as I am concerned, no validation is created unless I specifically request it to be added. So, it is possible to create an insert or update page without having anything validated.

I would say as a feature request, it would be useful to be able to apply different validation requirements to the insert and the update page. Perhaps set validations on the insert, and then the update takes those settings, but allows you to vary them. Currently, I am having to run Data Bridge twice and apply different validation settings, and to prevent myself overwriting the settings I've already created, I am making copies of pages to which I can revert back to.

Personally, I think Data Bridge is a cracking extension, and by hunting about DW, I am finding some very useful tools!
