Using Data Assist with Relational Databases

Thread began 10/21/2012 3:44 am by thehalpeen319342 | Last modified 10/26/2012 9:16 am by thehalpeen319342 | 5564 views | 16 replies

Alright - that was an interesting tutorial. I've also read the documentation and I'm interested in the following extract from the documentation:

"NOTE:If you are using the DataAssist Create Pages Wizard to create pages for your own relational tables and not the tables in this demonstration, you will need to enable filtering on the results page of your child table (in our example, the Orders Details results page). You can define your filtering under ‘Filters and Sorting’ when configuring your results page in the Data Assist Create Pages Wizard. In order to display the correct details of any given order, you will need to filter equal to a URL Parameter containing the ID that matches the related ID in your parent table"

Am I right in saying that based on the above extract, with the Data Bridge wizard you can build all the CRUD files for an admin system, like Data Assist - If yes, then it looks as if I should upgrade to Data Bridge - it would make the building of a CRUD with multi-tables a lot easier, amongst other things.

But before I do, is there a tutorial on deleting - I don't want to allow some lower-level Admin users to delete a parent entry, if it has members in the child table.

Also, is it possible to allow multiple records to be inserted at once into a child table rather than having to click 'add another entry' every time?
