Yes, they are discontinued. Since they are discontinued they are not a part of our testing plan. I am trying to determine what the cause of the problem is, once i know what is causing the problem the engineering team can work on updating free tools to work around the conflict.
Search for BOSS and search for Bing where discontinued because Bing and Yahoo discontinued the APIS that are used, and went to a paid model in the New APIs. Free tools uses the Google Search API as a replacement. I wouldn't re install those 2 since they use API's that are not supported by the Search services any more.
The issue with the floaters error and having to reset the workspace is caused because some of the extensions have panels that are floaters that can be docked in the workspace.
The Extension manager api doesn't allow us to modify the workspace when an extension is uninstalled to remove the reference from the layout, you may consider it an extension problem, but the reality is that it is an extensions manager limitation.
I Removed BOSS and Bing. No change. I removed Constant Contact and holy hell, a bazillion errors even after deleting the cache file and resetting the view. The first one came up twice and the last one came up once on opening and 3 times on closing.
