Are you using a windows hosting plan?

do you know if the Email server is an exchange server?

When using an exchange server there are issues passing through a FRom Name and From Address. the Exchange server will only accept a from address, messages that contain a from name will not be sent through.

Since there is no way to test the SMTP server to know what mail software is being used, the Universal Email script will strip out the From Name if the hosting server is a windows server.

If your are using Windows host, and not using Exchange as the SMTP server, you can edit the webassist/email/mail_php.php file.

find the following line:

php:
if($isIIS) $mailFrom = $fromArray[0][1];

and comment it out:

php:
//if($isIIS) $mailFrom = $fromArray[0][1];

NOTE: if you are using exchange, do not comment that line out, as it will cause emails to fail. You will only be able to pass a from address when using exchange, not a from name.
