Sage Payment Integration

I need to integrate Sage Payment the North American version of SagePay with our PowerStore 4.53, In searching your forum I found a couple of references to Sage Payment, I am hoping you can provide me with the best way to substitute the Sage Payment Gateway for either another gateway as selected through admin or NONE selected through admin or the proper way to add a new gateway to the database, also the point at which I use the Approval Code obtained from the gateway. I am looking for the easiest way to accomplish this and the specific files that need to be substituted or altered. I have the specs and sample PHP code from Sage Payments.
