Issues with CMS

i am having an issue with CMs when i try and update my website content,
All works well under windows XP and IE8, issue is with windows 7 and IE 9, but i suspect maybe more ot do woth windows 7 as even with mozilla the same issues srtill happen.

basically i am able ot log inot CMS, select the aprt of the page i wish to update, and if i am updating text there is no issues, i can do my changes and ssve my work and it wil be updated correctly,
The issue begins when i try and do anything that requires a new box to pop up, for example i try and upload a photo or insert a photo box, the browser will pop up a box to insert a picture box and then the browser will just hang, i need to force shut the borwser to get control of the browser again.

Hope it makes sense

Thank you
