The update seems to take ages....

  and when the update occurs the page "eventually" refreshes and that order which was chosen for the update is the only one displayed (so all the other non-updated orders are not displayed..until i either manually refresh or go out th epage and go back in).  



this is code order.

you have record sets before the update record behavior.


this means you pull the data out of the data base. then you change it, then display the data that had been retrieved.


the retrieved data is no longer the same as the data in the database.


you need to change the code order, so that the update code is before the recordset code.



as for the page load times, how large is the orders table? try editing the orders table and adding an index to the OrderStatus column and the OrderProcess column.
