Just a note to anyone that may be having a similar problem. My situation was that I had previously designed a site in Dreamweaver (without using any of he WebAssist extensions) and created a folder with the title "Images" with a capital I. When PowerCMS puts the files together, it creates a folder named "images" with a lower case i. This caused some confusion with the script, so after I renamed my images folder to something else, I removed all the PowerCMS files that were placed on my local and remote folder, including connections, and also removed the code from the file that was using PowerCMS, and dropped the tables that had been created by PowerCMS in my SQL database. After that the install went perfectly!
