that sounds perfect as it be great to have this sorted. One last question before I go ahead with that. I have gone through the whole product range of current website and I have created a list of ALL unique product options (see below).

From the list below you could suggest there are 14 fields that are of type INPUT and 1 field thats type TICKBOX and 6 fields that are of type LIST.

now in the eCART columns tab (where before you would put in color or size etc) could I just simply create generic names (for all columns that use INPUT, I could just name them here as input1, input2...input14). This is assuming in the database OPTIONGROUPS would store the actual "real" name (such as 'Name on charm', date on reverse' etc).

Would something like that work with the current eCart?

Name on charm (customer input text)
charm carrier (customer tick box)
date on reverse (customer input text)
letter (customer input text)
charm1 type (customer list)
charm1 name (customer input text)
charm2 type (customer list)
charm2 name (customer input text)
charm3 type (customer list)
charm3 name (customer input text)
charm4 type (customer list)
charm4 name (customer input text)
Name/Message on Cufflink 1 (customer input text)
Name/Message on Cufflink 2 (customer input text)
Name/Message on Cufflink 3 (customer input text)
Name/Message on Cufflink 4 (customer input text)
Chain type (customer list)
name 1 (customer input text)
name 2 (customer input text)
name 3 (customer input text)
Bookmark Type (customer list)

best regards
