Not getting content from input box in email

This is my first time using Universal Email I have a simple input box and a submit button everything seems to work ok and I’m sending everything up to the server including the WA_Universal_Email folder. When I hit submit I’m receiving the email in my email box however the content from the input doesn’t appear in the email what am I doing wrong. I’m sure it’s simple solution.

Sample code

<?php require_once("../WA_Universal_Email/mail_PHP.php"); ?>
<?php require_once("../WA_Universal_Email/MailFormatting_PHP.php"); ?>
//WA Universal Email object="mail"
//Send Loop Once Per Entry
$RecipientEmail = "";include("../WA_Universal_Email/WAUE_test_1.php");

//Send Mail All Entries
if ("../ContactAcademic/thankyou.php"!="") {
header("Location: ../ContactAcademic/thankyou.php");
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "">
<html xmlns="">
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>

<form action="" method="post" name="emailContact" id="emailContact" onsubmit="">
<input type="text" name="contact_name" id="contact_name" />
<input type="submit" value="Submit" class="inputButton"/>
