Is Dynamic Dropdowns Good For This?

Thread began 8/10/2009 3:09 pm by jlifschitz185549 | Last modified 8/11/2009 5:32 pm by jlifschitz185549 | 4221 views | 4 replies

I worked once with VB and Access so I know a bit of database relational management, but never did it onine. I'll give it a try, I'll start with Assist and see how far I can go. I was looking for a simple solution just because if this works than after its done it will be maintained by an in-house person with not very much computer knowledge, this is why I thought XML (text file) would be a better choice.

You could use Assist to manage the data in the database, you would still need to use Dynamic Dropdowns for filtering the items in the dropdown lists.

If you have no previous knowledge of MySQL and relational databases, the tough part will be understand how to create the record sets to populate the lists. Dydnamic Dropdowns filters the data down based on parent child relations that are created in the database.
