Code to stop entire page from loading. Is this possible?

Code to stop entire page from loading. Is this possible?

I want to start by thanking tech support for helping me with the problem in my map.

I would like to do one last thing to tihs before I leave it alone. Right now, I have to have it set up so that the form is first, then the map under that then the directions stream in after the map.

I am trying to make it so when you submit your departure address, it doesn't load the whole page and you have to scroll down. I want it to load onto the directions part of the page.

Is this possible? I read another post out here that someone tried it, said they have a script that works, I tried it, and it isn't working, but it doesn't throw any errors either.

Here is the code:

<script type="text/javascript">
function updateInfoWindow() {

<cfform id="address" name="address" method="post" action="">
<cfinput type="text" name="addr" ID-"addr">
<cfinput type="text" name="city" ID-"city">
<cfinput type="submit" name="Submit" validateat="onSubmit" onClick="wagmp_directions_1(document.getElementById('address').value+', '+document.getElementById('city').value)" value="Get Directions" />

<!--- here is my div tags for maps --->
<div id="wagmp_map_1" style="width: 400px; height: 400px;"></div><div id="wagmp_directions_1" name></div>

Can anyone help me on this? I know it can be done, like I said, there is no errors, but it doesn't work. I also still get my directions, still have to scroll down.

This is written in ColdFusion.
Thank you.
