No RDS allowed - alternatives?

Thread began 8/05/2009 12:29 pm by donald.l.moore379153 | Last modified 8/06/2009 10:21 am by donald.l.moore379153 | 1534 views | 1 replies

No RDS allowed - alternatives?

We just got Dynamic Dropdowns extensions and are having difficulty in setting it up since our environment does not allow for RDS db connections (per my system administrator). I want to create dynamic drop downs that reads key data from a MS-SQL database (First will be with MS-Access to get it working / test, then will migrate to MS-SQL db).

For example
1st drop down would be: Brand (ie. Ford)
2nd drop down would be: Models under the brand (ie. Expedition)

I'm using a db to make it easier for our business analysts to update the dropdown information thats pulled into a form... We've used MX Widget for a number of years, but that is no longer available/retired/compatible - hence why we are trying to use Dynamic Dropdowns extension for use within Adobe CS4.

Any advice or suggestions to a possible workaround?
