php results page

I am working with the PowerStore database. Product group, products etc.
I am using this database on a sister site. It will not have a check out, but is only going to show the products, then a click thru to the check out site.

I have reached a point where I am stuck. I have accomplished a "product group" page where all the products in that category are listed. I have made each product clickable from that group page to a single page that is calling up that product group.

The way this company is structured is a productgroup is a "category", ie 5500 = jackets, and then each sku is a different color, so 5501 = black, 5502 = red etc.

So on the results page, I want to show one of the products, say black, a description price, etc. Then on the page in a smaller size, show 5502, 5503 etc.

I am stuck on how to get the results page to show the details of the products. I have tried a number of things, such as

FROM ps4_products
WHERE ProductName LIKE %colname%

hoping the product name, being a digit off from product group would work... nope.

FROM ps4_products
WHERE ProductGroup = colname LIMIT 1

no go

I am obviously missing php knowledge. Any pointers would be so appreciated.

The entry for the page leading to the results page is using this:

FROM ps4_categories, ps4_productcategories, ps4_products
WHERE ps4_productcategories.CategoryID =17 AND ps4_categories.CategoryID = 17 AND ps4_productcategories.ProductID =ps4_products.ProductID
