stuck on installation wizard, step four

Solution to "Stall on Step 4" problem

I thought I'd share the results of my support ticket, thanks to WA's Dani Chankhour.

Quoth Dani:
"Two things needs to happen to fix the issue.
1. Install the latest PowerCMS Builder [v.1.01] because it includes a fix to your issue. Make sure to delete your files [remote and local] so the new files are added.
2. Clear the tables from your database."

So, I uninstalled the v 1.0.0 MXP extention using Adobe Extention Manager; then re-installed the new v 1.0.1 MXP extention from a fresh download.

I deleted all of the PowerCMS Builder files from my local directory, then from my remote directory. I logged into PHPMyAdmin and saw that the install did not even create tables in my database, but if they did, I would have just emptied the db and started fresh.

I created a new database connection in Dreamweaver using the Databases Panel. Do not rely on PowerCMS to do this for you - it had more luck in finding an existing connection. In fact, after I installed the new extention, my Database panel was empty. I had to quit and restart DW to get it to behave again. I can't state that there is a link there, but it seems possible.

Then I opened a page in my site and selected a content DIV. While that is selected, I chose the command: WebAssist => CMS => Add Content to Power CMS. Dreamweaver then fooled around with creating a bunch of new content and files. When it finished I uploaded all of the new content and directories to my remote server and then visited the install url. index.php.

I was no longer stuck on step four - it completed with no difficulties and I'm on my way.

I hope this helps some of the others who are having the same problem with getting past Step 4.
