Since installing the latest version, everything is working great! I want to tell all the developers on this solution how effortless it is to use and how great it works since version 1.0.2. A lot of times I just visit the forum to find an answer to a problem or to complain...so I wanted to say "Great Work!"

My only wish list addition would be to make it easier to bring my site's css styles into the editor drop-down (still haven't been able to do this even following the relevant topics in the forum), and to supply documentation that tells the developer how to replace the "Power CMS" header, etc. so it falls in line with the overall site design, but these are minor things and if I was a PHP coder would be simple to do.

For the price (and the unlimited license!) this is one of the best CMS solutions available anywhere. I have used WebYep and Joomla and a few others and Power CMS is just fantastic and so easy to implement compared to the competition.

Hear hear! Power CMS is hugely improved and works well - I now have it in six sites. It had paid for itself a few times.

Changing the PowerCMS' header doesn't require you to be a PHP coder, you can customise the admin pages using css and your own images, background etc just like you can for any page.

Start by simply swapping the PowerCMS logo image file for your own.

For what it's worth, I just uploaded my normal site, including the stylesheet, images, etc. In other words, I don't have to change the WA header because I'm just using mine. The CMS content is picking up my stylesheet so if I change a H1 tag to purple and assign H1 to something in the CM area, it will turn purple once I re-upload my styles. Of course a user could override that with inline styles. Does that make sense? I've just started working with this so I may be crazy but it seems to be working just fine.

I have all my CMS files (the downloaded ones) in one folder. Everything else (pages, includes, images) outside that folder, at the root of the site.

I think the content management part of it is really simple to use. It takes a bit to get all the paths correct during setup and to understand what's going on. Documentation just sort of stops and leaves us hanging. Screenshots would be helpful as well.

But once you get to the admin page - way cool! I just wish there was an Add PDF button or it was an accepted format in the file upload. I'm going to add the code that I saw in another thread and see if that works. I absolutely have to be able to let users add PDFs to their sites.

I too have tried Joomla and Wordpress and was not happy with lack of control. I still have a hard time with not being able to 'touch' everything in the database but it's only a small part of the site so I can deal with it. I still have control over the majority of the sites.

Well this would assume that you know what CSS sheet the Editor is using and where the default header image is located. Which I don't. Can you give me a location for the CSS the editor is using? Much appreciated!

When you are on the index page the logo at the top is just an img tag inside of a link, here is the html for the image:

If you replaced this image with your own and adjusted this tag on the index page you can use your own image.

If you would like to make use of your own css just add it in the list of the loaded css files, so long as it appears last in this list it will take precedence over the default css files.

If you right-click any (blank) bit of a web page (including the CMS Admin pages, you can view the source code which shows you (in the Head section) what css files are being referenced. When you know where the stylesheets are, you can view those too and follow the links to referenced images.

One can also replace the logo.png with the one in the image folder. I simply make my logo in Photoshop, then save it in the image folder as logo.png. When I do that it asks if I want to replace. I say yes. Then I upload the logo.png to my CMS folder on the server. Keeps it really simple for me.

Version 2 is not unlimited license....it's about $50 per site. You gave them an idea to make extra money silly. Still the price is reasonable. I have had good luck with version 2 and am using it on several sites. The clients love it and it was easy to work with. It's not a perfect solution for every layout but will work well for 90% of layouts. Too many inline and span tags for my taste but they are still compliant.
