Free Shipping

I have done some shipping calculations based on total weights etc. What I wish to do now is indicate within the shopping cart display that when the total item weights within the cart exceed a certain weight, the shipping is free.

I need to indicate the words 'Free Shipping' on the view cart page and not just have it disappear if the calculation rules exceed the maximum weights for charges.

How would I go about this?

Add a discount rule that is the same amount as the shipping that triggers when the total weight exceeds that value, and call the discount "free shipping"
