The edit option doesn't show in the Property Inspector when clicking on the placeholder image. Anyone??

Make sure you are using the most recent version of Pro Maps for Google that is avialbedl from the download center page.
If you have a previous version, make sure to remove it from the extension manager before installing the newer one.

This can some times happen because of conflicting code on the page such as a form named directions.

Try adding a map to a new blank page, do you still have the same problem?

Can you send a copy of your page and the Google_Javascript folder so we can try to recreate the problem on our end to find the cause.

I am having the same problem. Any ideas. Tried creating a new map but this did not work either.

I have the same intermittent problem with DW CS4 on a Mac. The same thing happens with DWUser v4 Flashslidehow, so I'm betting that this is a Dreamweaver issue. We still need to find a fix though...

I say "intermittent" because just now I opened a site, then opened a page with a Google Map. The icon shows, and allows me to select the "Edit" button in the Properties panel. But then I open another site and there's a big empty space where the Google Map placeholder image should be, and the Properties panel does not show the "Edit" icon.

Please send a copy of the two pages and the google_javascript folder so I can examine the problem.

in most cases it is a problem in the page code.

Please send a copy of the page and the google_javascript folder so I can examine the problem.
