I have purchased HTML Editor and am now trying to either uninstall, or disable and then uninstall, iRite 1.0.2 prior to installing the new HTML editor.

Every time I attempt either of these courses of action the Adobe Extension Manager claims that Dreamweaver CS3 is using various files (either *.gif, or *.html files) in the 'Memento' or 'RichTextEditor' subfolders below the 'AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Dreamweaver/Configuration/Sharesd/WebAssist' folder.

In reality Dreamweaver is not open and I have deleted the Dreamweaver 'WinFileCache9999.dat' before attempting to use the Adobe Extension Manager.

Is there any easy way of manually uninstalling iRite? I do not really want to have to re-install 38 other extensions that I have.

Thanks,

Steven.

If it's Windows:
I needed to first delete Irite, then restart my PC because Vista wouldn't release some of the DW - dll's from its memory.
Hope this helps

Steven,

If you just go into the extension manager and hit remove iRite, you will not have to re-install everything else (unless there is something greatly wrong with your entire system - which I doubt).

Thanks 'office377308'!

The trick of rebooting the system and then not starting Dreamweaver, but launching the Extension Manager worked.
