Why can't I import simple100.zip, moda100.zip, or artist100.zip, which I bougth from you last August? I can see that they refer to the previous version of Sculptor, but I can't find any updates? What should I do?

Best,
Bengt

PS. I have SiteAssist Pro DS.

You should be able to open them up and find the import file. The importing is done through the layout manager. It should work... if not post a support incident and somebody can look into it with you further.

What exactly are you doing to try to get it to import. What happens when it doesn't work? An error?

From the layout manager I try to import e.g. simple100.zip, but then I get an error message saying: "The file you selected is not a valid CSS Sculptor layout." Maybe I should only import something which is inside the zip-file? But the readme file inside the zip file seems to say that I should import this zip file...

No it should be another zip file that is inside that zip file. The outer zip file includes the importable zip file.

There is no *.zip inside the outer zip-file. The outside zip-file contains:
Artist
output_html
PSD_source
readme.txt
Artist.xml
wa.xml
Artist.png

Here is the beginning of the readme file:

What's Included
-----------------------------------------------

Each CSS Design .zip file contains the following:

1) output_html - HTML files for each color scheme. Useful for easy implementation into your site.
2) PSD_source - Photoshop (.PSD) source files for each color scheme. Allows for complete customization of the design using Adobe Photoshop software.
3) PNG file - Fireworks (.PNG) source file containing a frame for each color scheme. Allows for complete customization of the design using Adobe Fireworks software.
4) *XML files - XML files used by Eric Meyer's CSS Sculptor for importing each CSS design. (Please note: when importing a layout into CSS Sculptor, point to the zip file and not the XML file.)

*Each XML file references content located within the folder with the same name as the chosen design.

CSS Sculptor Design Installation Instructions
-----------------------------------------------

To use a Design in Eric Meyer's CSS Sculptor, follow these steps:

1) Make sure you have the most recent version of CSS Sculptor installed.
This can be downloaded from your order history on WebAssist.com.

2) Download your new CSS Sculptor Design and make a note of the location.

3) Open Adobe Dreamweaver and, from the Insert menu, choose
Insert > WebAssist > CSS Sculptor > Layout Manager
Provide your activation code if requested.

4) In the CSS Sculptor Layout Manager, click Import and browse for the
ZIP file saved in step 2 and click OK. After the import operation is done,
you will see the new design in the list.

It isn't the first time, but it appears I was mistaken. For some reason I thought that we had an importable zip inside another zip with the readme, but it appears you are correct.

Please post a support incident on this topic. It appears it should work properly given the information you provided. An engineer will be able to look into this with you and determine the solution.

I have posted a support incident and got an answer from Jason Byrnes saying the same as you: "Extract the contents of the artist100.zip file, there will be other zip files inside that contain the CSS Sculptor layout or the Menu Writer Layout or the Site Assist Pro Layout, these are the zip files that should be selected when using the layout manager." But there are no inside zip-files. I have given Jason some more info about the file, which I unfortunately can't attach since it is 7 MB. Thanks for your help so far.

I apologize. He probably looked at the error as I did and assumed that the .zip was contained within another as I did.

This is not a known issue, so our responses reflect that we are slightly baffled by it. Please be patient and we will continue to look into this issue further.

I have the same problem occurring - have tried in both CSS MenuWriter 1.04 and 2 (latest) and on both VIsta and XP. Have tried both purchased menu themes and new ones I have created and exported myself.

I get the same error message as above.

I see that you asked the previous member to raise a Support Ticket - can I raise the same item please. I know of one other person with the same issue too so this will be of great benefit to find out the solution.

Many thanks

Is there a fix to this yet? I've even tried to export an existing layout, only to turn around and immediately try to import it back into layout manager. I get the same error. I'm using:

CSS Sculptor 2.0.4
Site Assist Pro 1.0.6
DW CS4

Thanks,
Matt

Hi - this worked for me ....

Your configuration folder may have become corrupted. You can rename the configuration folder to have Dreamweaver recreate it. Close Dreamweaver and go to:

WinXP
-DW8
--C:\Documents and Settings\<Your User Name>\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8
-DWCS3
--C:\Documents and Settings\<Your User Name>\Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9
-DWCS4
--C:\Documents and Settings\<Your User Name>\Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4\en_US

Win Vista
-DW8
--C:\Users\<Your User Name>\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8
-DWCS3
--C:Users\<Your User Name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9
-DWCS4
--C:\Users\<Your User Name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4\en_US

Mac OSX;
-DW8
--Hard disk: Users: <Your User Name>: Library: Application Support: Macromedia: Dreamweaver 8
-DWCS3
--Hard disk: Users: <Your User Name>: Library: Application Support: Adobe: Dreamweaver 9
-DWCS4
--Hard disk: Users: <Your User Name>: Library: Application Support: Adobe: Dreamweaver CS4: en_US

(Please note that <Your User Name> Should be replaced with the User name you use to log into your computer)

Rename the configuration folder to configuration_back. This will have the effect of disabling all of the installed extensions. You should open the extension manager and remove all extensions to clear the extension mangers cache. After removing the extensions you can then reinstall them making sure to download the latest versions from your order history. Please post back and let us know if this worked for you and your version of DW.

NOTE:
On Windows Computers, The AppData or Application Data folders may be set to be hidden.

To View Hidden Folders in Windows Vista:
1) In The Windows Explorer, Click the "Organize" button
2) Select "Folders And Search Options"
3) Select the "View" tab
4) Click the "Show Hidden Folders And Files" radio button.

To View Hidden Folders in Windows XP:
1) On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options.
2)Click the View tab.
3) Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders.
