PayPal eCommerce Toolkit security issues

I have just installed PayPal eCommerce Toolkit for Deamweaver
having created a few test 'buy now' buttons I looked at the coding

when viewed in browser the page can be saved then
edited by changing the original amounts,
then when the new page is viewed in browser
clicking on 'buy now' button the buyer pays the amount he has set
which can be considerably lower than the original.
is there any way of preventing this, which what happens when you create
a button on paypal site.

The buttons that you create on PayPals site are hosted Buttons. This means the button parameters are stored in your site profile, so when the button is clicked It tells PayPal to look up the stored parameters for the button.

The eCommerce Toolkit is not capable of creating hosted buttons.
