Surveyor is not creating the sitemap

Hi,

I used surveyor a few times already.

First time, 2 or 3 weeks ago, it created the sitemaps for several dreamweaver sites and it submitted them successfully to all except Yahoo.

Second time, 5 or 6 days ago, it only created the sitemap, but wouldn't submit to anyone. Just sat there and nothing would happen.

Third time, today, it won't create the sitemap at all for a brand new site.

What can be happening?

Can you try running surveyor on the first site you tried to see if its surveyor causing the issue or if its a site issue?

I do have to quit DW and restart each time I want to create a brand new sitemap. After the sitemap is created, I have to quit and restart again and then surveyor submits the sitemap. If I don't restart, it won't do anything, it sits doing nothing, not even an error message. This time it submitted to all, even to Yahoo with no complaints!

Although it works if I do that, it'd be nice if I didn't have to quit and restart each time.

Any ideas?

Try deleting your Win/Mac filecache. This thread has a good explanation of how to do this:

Hi again,

I was wondering if you had corrected the submission to Yahoo!. I find that it's very sporadic, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't and I can't tell when it does. Lately though, it seems that it never submits to Yahoo anymore. It always gives me an error :

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Also, when submitting to Morevoer, it gives this error:

Can you send me the url for your sitemap so I can do some testing with it?
