Validation on a subdomain?

How can I get validation (and Universal E-mail) work on a subdomian?

For example:
domain is: www.example.com
subdomain is: www.test.example.com

There should be no difference in getting it working on a domain or sub-domain. Is there a particular problem you are running into?
