customize the registration form

can I customize the registration form, I need to use the db with 7 colm's, and they would not be the same item names as you have, i hope I made myself clear, thx

Yes you can customize any forms you want in DW using the webassist tools.

a couple of questions?
1. does it have a forgot pw feature, where they can email, and it will be emailed back to user automacitlly

2. what is difference between the user registration, and security assist, do they both offer the feature to block out visitors to certain pages on your site unless they are registeed and given permission?

1) yes that is included
2) user registration is a completed application using security assist, data assist, validation toolkit, dynamic web charts, and other extensions from our suite... Security Assist is the key piece for the registration part of the application.

if I purchase security assist is all I need to make a complete registration system,with login, forgot pw, log out etc

or do I need to purchase other packages also,

Security Assist will be all you need to create a registration system with login, forgot pw, log out etc... It would not include validated forms, user administrative back end, or reporting charts to view trends.

If you purchase the user registration solution you will have a pre-canned site that can do all that and more already created, but you won't have all of the tools used to create it so you would be editing by hand unless you also bought all the tools, not just security assist that were used to create it.

If you want to do it as easily as cheaply and easily as possible I think you could probably just buy:

1) User registration solution
2) DataAssist
3) Digital File Pro

You don't really need securityAssist unless you are doing something more complex with the login. You may want Validation Toolkit if you want to limit what size or type of files you will allow to be used.

If you know how to write php you can probably get away with just getting the solution.

In the long run if you are going to be customizing and developing other sites I'd suggest just buying the Super Suite and the User Registration Solution and you'll know you have all the tools and the functioning site that uses them.
