I have a CSS Menu Writer generated menu that displays an arrow ('>') at the end of each menu item's box. However, it would be nice if the menu would only display the arrow for items where there is a lower-level menu associated with that menu item. Does anyone know if it is possible to do this using CSS Menu Writer?

What version of menu writer are you using? I think the latest version adds a class for parent menu items so that you can easily differentiate from elements without children in the CSS.
Do you have a sample menu url? I might be able to suggest how to do it.

Look at the vertical menu on the left. Only the Products and Submit Inquiry buttons have lower-level buttons at the main menu level
Also, I have ver 2.0.1 of CSS Menu Writer.
