Where are old forum posts

Please tell me that you plan to migrate the old forum posts to this new format.
There are plenty of support related posts there that keep us from having to submit a ticket.

As I noted in my posts announcing the change over last week, the two systems are incompatible and we can't migrate them. We have, however, picked up a good deal of information and put it in the FAQ section of the product support pages. For example, check out the eCart support page: http://www.webassist.com/support/ecart/.

I agree with John. There have been countless times that I have found what I was looking for in the forums, enabling me to keep working and avoid submitting a ticket. Can you at least allow us to access the old forums in order to search them?

Your documentation is not nearly specific enough for you to expect us to not need the old posts. As a matter of fact, you should have examples of code for the ecart objects that is accessible to all, and you should have an explanation of the overall e-cart software implementation, i.e. WA_ecart_definition.php, WA_eCart_database.php, mycart_PHP. Give me a flow chart or something that explains the code. Like many of your customers, I am a designer, not a coder, but I get by and I need as much documentation as possible. This all would really help, but we would still need the old posts until you write a complete users guide for the eCart. The eCart is not plug and play as you have presented it in your marketing materials. Remember, your software makes total sense to you because you have designed it. And while your support materials are very nicely produced, they are really lacking in specifics. I really like the eCart, but I am not using it to its full potential, and I don't know where to turn for help unless you would code it for me.

Regardless of incompatability issues, a link to the old format forums would be of great benefit, at least until the new forums have a bit of history.

I just came back to the site to look in the old forum to get the info I required and noticed the change, love the new look of the site but Im afraid I agree with a few of the above posts, the suport guides dont give enough information on this product and the support forum was a great help and saved having to post.

Although I wasnt keen on the old forum is was a great help.

Hopefully the old forum becomes accessible again for information only at least.

I agree with everybody here. The old forums are a must-have. There is way too much information there to just throw it away. Although it's not compatible with the new forum, it should be included here, even if it means manually adding all the posts back.

The marketing of ecart as plug and play is a bit deceptive.
I am AMAZED at how much I have been able to accomplish as a non-developer, but it is all thanks to the forums. The webassist support material is very limited and does not address some of the most important questions (product options etc).
Please allow us to access the old forums...

InterAKT left their forums up to this day, even though Adobe bought them over 2 years ago.
People still post questions and answers there.

You are cutting off a vital aspect of using your product, which will motivate the discontented to look for alternatives.

This is marketing 101.

We switched from an ASP and msSQL back end to a PHP and mySQL back end, so it took a couple of days to get the old forum archive live. It went live yesterday morning.

If you do find an answer in the archive, please post the question and answer here as well, we want to make sure good content makes its way to the new forum instead of depending on the archive.
