View Full Version : Pro Maps work in UK? Just showing map of US despite postcode.

Hi. I've run through the basic setup and simply selected the first line of address, town, city, region, country and postcode.

However, when I call up a page, some of the locations in my database just default to a map overview of the US. Like it isn't picking up the data?

However, there are some addresses that are being picked up but, yet, the data being offered is the same; first line of address, town, city, region, country and postcode.

Am I missing something? Is there something I need to run through in the Google settings, or hand-code on the page?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Regards

You may need to use longitude and lattitude if the addresses aren't mapping correctly. Some addresses may not be recognized for geocoding.

I think that could be it Ray.

In a database scenario, is it best to create Latitute / Longitude fields in my "venue" table so that I can dynamically feed Pro Maps with those values for each location?

Where do I find the Latitude/Longitude values for a given location?

Much appreciated.

That would probably be best. By using latitude and longitude directly it skips the geocoding process which leads to the errors.

You can get the lat/long by typing the address into google maps. It is more robust in finding addresses, and if it doesn't find an exact one you can click around on the map and get the coordinates from there.
