iRite and DFP2

I'm thinking of buying the iRite extension. Just about the only one I haven't got.

Before I do, can DFP2 be used in conjunction with iRite? I'm thinking in particular of the image resizing capabilities which I don't believe iRite does (or am I wrong?).

Currently I use DMXZones Advanced HTML editor combined with their Image upload and Smart image processor which all work together nicely.

The reason I want to change to iRite is because I'm also thinking of buying PowerCMS for a project I'm about to start. I already have DFP2.

In order to add better file management cababilities to iRite, look into:

These are all easily plugged in to iRite and can add a lot of power. Direct implementation of DFP 2 would be possible, but is probably more work than it is worth given the solutions sited above.

Let me know which one you go with or if you decide to try to implement DFP v2... I'd be interested in how and why you made your decision as we are considering which direction to take iRite in the next version and this topic is a clear possibility.

Many thanks for your reply.

The product I'm thinking of buying is PowerCMS. In view of this I'm also now toying with the idea of iRite purely because I would then have an easy was of configuring the FCKeditor that's "built into" PowerCMS.

On trying the Demo of PowerCMS it "looks like" http://www.ckfinder.com is already integrated into it. I assume that this would work straight out of the box. I also assume that it does not come with iRite as standard and that you have added it into the PowerCMS solution.

I've had a look at all the suggestions you made and whilst they all allow file upload into folders for later browsing, none of them seem to have the ability to resize or optimise images. It's these functions that I would be after as the end user of PowerCMS (on this particular occasion) is not particularly capable of doing this (or indeed wants to do this) prior to uploading an image.

Or have I misunderstood? :)

It appears you are overlooking something.

Go to:
http://kfm.verens.com/

click the open KFM... button for the stable english version.

Now right click on any of the images to see all of the options. Resize is no problem.

The add-on that comes with the FCKEditor in PowerCMS, does that have image resizing / optimisation capabilities? Or would I have to remove that add-on and then "install" the http://kfm.verens.com/ one?

The one that comes with fckeditor in powerCMS is just the default one from fckeditor. You can easily add the kfm version I think it is just a matter of updating a couple of lines in the configuration .js files.
