PLEASE Help!
I started building my site two years ago with siteassist. have the pro version now but unable to import my site into this. so am trying to work in siteassist 3.0 still.
this is the issue:
website [URL="http://www.bordercolliepuppies.co.uk"]
Side navagation is not consistant throughout the site, both in format and in page links.
a few updates ago, I had a failed siteassit update using the wizard of course for adding new pages, it said the update failed but still continued to recreate the site. it was after this that I found the non-cohnsistant side nav. There are two of us working on the site and I think having the check in/out activate may well have caused S/A do currupt something.
I have tried the following:
recreat site cashe,
close and reopen D/W.
reapply templates to entire site.
There are some difference (in the code on the differing pages but) I do not want to change each page, more than a 100 to go through.
That's what Site assist is for.
I can include files (zipped) for inclusion but which ones?
I am not very good on code,
thanks

Do you have a backup of the site that you can revert to? Does the site that is live now have the problems in it? If so did you completely overwrite the good version with the newer corrupted one?
One thing that you could try it to define a new Dreamweaver site and copy into it your Template folder from your existing site. Make sure that you do not have any check in or check out functionality enabled for the site. You should be able to go to Site > Modify SiteAssist Site. This should allow you to create a new site based on the settings that you have for the site. Give this a try to see if you can get all of the pages generated correctly this way. If so you should be able to import a copy of your site into this new DW site and update it there.

Yes I have a backup and had already tried this, the new template appears to become currupted as well
If you look at the live site, the side navagation on some pages is compact and on others it opens every section. This is what is happening. it is supposed to only open the section clicked on.
Also Webassist is not recognising nor consistantly updating all pages see the date: see = site updated on the template, this should be the same for every page if the entire site is uploaded. and it is not happening.
Also Dreamweaver is not keeping the sync correctly. I have just repaired the CS3 installation. and have reinstalled Siteassist.
QUESTION: If there are two of us working on the site on different computers, we hav now got check in/out deactivated, does the template still update, as for the last 24hours I have not uploaded but the other person has, the template date has not changed which it should have done?

I have now tried the following checked all links using D/W link checker, there was some .htm files in there that I have now rectified, (this site was originally a .htm site.)
Recreated site cache
created a new Siteassist site and used this new templates folder to replace the corrupted site.
ran link checker, it came up with broken links to the template. so directed the link to the new template. BUT
When files are viewed the old template is still there.
and Siteassist wizard still does not find my files.
QUESTION; When I originally found the incorrect side nav, it was after I asked S/A to install new links and had ticked the "show all page links in the side navigation on step 3 of 5 of the wizard. The side nav has now elongated itself and I cannot find a way to change it.
PLEASE Help!

I thought I had fixed the problem by unchecking the box as in my previous post.
But now I am getting this error message: See below. after making a change to the template and getting D/W to update all relative files, Why is it trying to look in a different Inetpub\wwwroot folder, of course it will recieve an error. It is trying to update two sites at the same time, is it not? Whats happening?

I'm a bit confused about the problems you are experiencing. I think it would be best to work out one issue at a time. In regards to SiteAssist are you currently getting output from the wizard that is incorrect? If so what is incorrect about what the wizard is producing for you. Also, if you can post back with a copy of your Templates folder I can take a look to see what problems I experience when using your files.
As for check in and check out ability to keep the site synced up I don't think this is a good idea. I have never had a good result when relying on DW's check in/check out functionality. In my experience it is always best to manually check in and check out your files rather than rely on DW.
