Product Specific
Q: Do I need to own Dreamweaver to use Pro Maps for Google?
A: Yes, you will need Dreamweaver 8, CS3, CS4 or CS5 to run Cookies Toolkit.
Q: Can Pro Maps be used without any coding knowledge?
A: Yes. Pro Maps can be used without any prior coding experience or knowledge.
Q: Can I create a dynamic (database driven) Google Map?
A: Yes. Pro Maps reads street addresses and coordinates directly from a recordset. Pro Maps even supports multiple recordsets, so you can dynamically map a variety of locations.
Q: Is functionality lost if creating a static map rather than a dynamic map?
A: You will not loose any mapping functionality when creating a static map rather than a dynamic map. Instead with a static map you manually enter the locations for your map whereas with a dynamic map these locations are automatically pulled from a database that you created.
Q: Can I control the size of my map?
A: Yes. You can specify the exact width and height of your map directly within the Pro Maps wizard.
Q: Can you easily edit an existing map?
A: Yes. Once you've inserted a Pro Maps for Google object on your page, you can easily modify your map. Just select the placeholder map in Dreamweaver and click the Edit button in the custom Properties inspector. The Pro Maps for Google wizard re-opens with all your previous addresses, settings, and other options-any of which can be altered quickly and easily.
Q: Are longitude and latitude coordinates supported?
A: Yes. You may find that the Google maps API cannot return a location from an address you have provided. To accommodate for such situations, Pro Maps accepts either coordinates (longitude and latitude) and street addresses; or both in the same map.
Q: Will Pro Maps for Google allow me to include driving directions?
A: Yes. Pro Maps for Google lets you set the starting point and destination with just a few clicks of the mouse. Starting points can be defined as a static or dynamic database-driven address. By binding the start address to a form field, you can even let your site visitors enter their location to retrieve directions to you.
Q: What types of map views does Pro Maps for Google support?
A: Pro Maps for Google includes the following views: Map, Satellite, and Hybrid. All these views provide the ability to display Traffic.
Q: Can I customize the location marker info windows?
A: Yes. Pro Maps for Google gives you the option to personalize the marker info windows with your own details, entered manually or populated dynamically. You can even integrate images into your markers - just insert an "img" tag into the custom info window.
